The European Central Bank (ECB) has published a book on its history, role and functions.

This publication looks at the ECB from legal, institutional and organisational standpoints. From a legal point Chapter 1.2 (Legal basis and characteristics) and Chapter 2 (Central banking in EMU, legal, institutional an organisational aspects) are interesting.

Seminar on the Stability and Growth Pact (8-9 September 2005)

On 8 and 9 September 2005 the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) organises a seminar entitled “The Stability & Growth Pact (SGP): Theory & Practice”.

Peter Wierts (DG ECFIN, European Commission) will discuss the European Commission proposals to improve the implementation of the SGP.
